Changing the on-hold/background music

It would be good if it was possible to change the music and/or change the music to a custom "advertisement" announcement

I had someone complain today about the default hold music being too loud and distorted.  Might have just been his phone, but I would like to be able to change the music to something less annoying.

I agree - the music choice should be flexible - for instance, I should be able to choose a podcast station, or a station that broadcasts on the web, or link to my itunes library. Thanks.

Customizing the on hold music would be a very good option.  I do use a custom on hold message in my current PBX.  So, it would be a nice feature to allow the Admin to select between Ringio provided on hold music or customizing the on hold music/message.  However, with custom on hold music/message two options become available: 1. A user web stream (like the podcast station mentioned above)  2. An uploaded file.

If a user web stream is selected Ringio and/or the Admin could have licensing conflicts.  A company called BMG is the premier license rights manager for the music industry and, believe it or not, if you stream licensed music as your on-hold message you are legally required to pay a licensing fee.  So, Ringio will likely want to avoid the possibility that their company could get tangled into this kind of mess; as a result, you'll likely not see a web user stream available as an on hold message option.

An Admin uploaded file is the best option.  Then the question becomes, file size and quality.  I see that Ringio has established file size and quality for custom automated attendent files (Which I have already recorded from my PC and uploaded to Ringio with no problem).  You can record this message your self or if you prefer you can use a song (and accept the licensing risk).

Lastly, if the Admin selects the system provided music my only request is that if the call were to remain on hold for 10 seconds or more at certain intervals (maybe every 10 seconds or so) notify the caller that "we're still trying to reach your party, please continue to hold".

We'd love to be able to customize as well for advertising or just company style - but for now to simply be able to turn off the music entirely. As mentioned in previous comments, the level is too hot on the sound file itself, which is unpleasant and our clients dislike. We'd be happy to either address the BMI/ASCAP licensing ourselves - or to upload some of our own music, created for this purpose. Being able to keep our customers from wanting to hang up (one told us exactly that) is extremely important.

I'm trialing the service at the moment.  This could potentially be a deal breaker for me.

I was hoping for an example of where this feature can be utilized (like in all other feature updates).
